Eating Healthy Foods During Those Summer Picnics

Eating Healthy Foods Can Be A Challenge at picnics!

We all know how hard it is to avoid eating all of the wonderful tasting goodies that aren’t good for us at picnics.

It’s all about how you prepare yourself for the day of the picnic!

5 Ways of eating healthy foods during those summer picnics:

  1. Start by eating a powerful breakfast such as a green smoothie with some oatmeal.
  2. Depending on the time of the picnic, if it’s an earlier afternoon start, eat  some fruits and vegetables with peanut butter.
  3. Look for the dishes that have either raw vegetables or veggies marinated in good oils.
  4. Avoid eating hot dogs and hamburgers, unless you know for sure they are 100% all natural, hormone free meats.
  5. Desserts?  It’s OK to have a sliver, but don’t over indulge!   Try to eat the healthy ones such as a “bowl of fruit.”

If you follow these five steps, you will be less tempted to eat all of those fat, artery clogging foods that only make you tired and sluggish.

You may feel out of place by asking the host what’s in the foods you’re planning on eating,

DON’T!!!  Why?  Simply, it’s your body, and you have every right to ask.

Most likely, you will be surrounded by family or friends who know how you are about your health and they will understand why you’re asking.

Creating Healthy Eating Habits For The Kids

Teaching Kids Healthy Eating Habits During Family Meals

As hard is it might seem, Dads need to be the leader in teaching
their kids healthy eating habits.

Having 11 month old twin boys I am learning the importance of having family dinners together at the kitchen table.

Because of the hectic life most of us Dads lead, it becomes much harder to make meals that suits the whole family, let alone have regular meals together as a family.

7 healthy eating habits Dads need to encourage the family to follow through with:

  1. Start  by being a role model and eat healthy yourself.
  2. Make a point to set a time to have regular family meals together.
  3. Have different selections of healthy foods and snacks in the house at all times.
  4. Get the kids excited by involving them at the grocery store by letting them pick out healthy snacks they like.
  5. On occasions, let the kids have friends over to eat dinner with the family.
  6. Kids love the idea of helping out, so let them help with creating healthy dinners.
  7. Express to them the importance and benefits of eating healthy.

Keep in mind the importance of having family dinners together.  It’s a known fact that family meals are a great time to get caught up with the kids activities during the day.  If your schedule is too busy to have family meals every night, then set aside specific days that will work with everyone’s schedule.

Remember Dads, kids see you as the leader or role model, so make it a point to teach them the benefits of healthy eating habits.  This link is a good source of added benefits with influencing your kids to eat healthier.

Raw Organic Foods Have 5 Powerful Benefits

Raw Organic Foods, how can they benefit Dads?

5 Health Benefits Of Eating Raw Organic Foods:

  1. Increased amounts of energy throughout the day
  2. Reduces the risks of heart, diabetes, and cancer diseases
  3. Keeps added and unwanted weight off your body
  4. Promotes positive emotions by helping you think clearly
  5. Increases you fiber intake for getting rid of unwanted toxins

Many of the  foods in the raw category contain very few trans and saturated fats.

Many fruits and vegetables are low in sodium, but high in essential vitamins and minerals.

Back to the fiber intake,  and the benefits of promoting a healthy colon.  This to me is one of the most important benefit!

Those of you who are at the age of 50, you know what that means. Yes, the good ole rectal examine. Sorry to bring that up, but eating fruits and vegetables prevent colon disease.

Here is examples of some of the delicious raw organic foods to consume :

  • Freshly juiced fruits and vegetables
  • Grains
  • Legumes (beans and lentils)
  • Seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, etc.)
  • Nuts (walnuts and almonds have more benefits than peanuts)
  • Dried Fruits and Vegetables

Not only should you consume more of this list above, it’s important to drink lots of distilled water. Water is what makes the nutritional elements go through your body easier, and helps with the cleansing process.

Debi Crisrtiano has a great article posted a few days before father’s day for us dads. Check out her blog because she provides some added bonuses to what I’m telling you.
She describes in more detail about raw organic foods.
When are you going to stand about your health?  It’s up to you to start eating healthier, so start today!

Developing Positive Habits

Positive habits Should be part of your New Year’s Resolution.

Having a positive attitude means you don’t let anything get in your way of your goals. Everything you do reflects great accomplishments.

How many times did you find yourself making that new year’s resolution to start living a healthier lifestyle, but after a few days, you lost your motivation?

Why is it so easy to come up with these great ideas but you find that you never follow through, you forget the commitment you made to yourself?

At this moment you tell yourself “I’ll do it tomorrow, or my plate is full and I don’t have the time and then suddenly you realize the day never comes.

During the process of telling yourself that I’ll do it tomorrow such as eating healthier or exercising and not following through, you’re programing yourself to feel bad, and that’s what you remember. In turn, this causes you to remember a negative emotion.

The problem here is you will not remember it the next time because in reality you don’t want this negative emotion. Because you didn’t jump on the opportunity to make a change immediately, you procrastinated, now it’s even harder to follow through.

How many times did you make this resolution: “this year I’m going to eat healthier and start exercising”? You keep telling yourself you want to do this, but it never happens. This is how we are creatures of habit.

Even though you didn’t jump on your desires to better yourself, you still are following a repetitive pattern of not doing anything.

This causes you to feel real bad that your not committed to living a healthier lifestyle.

Now imagine if you actually follow through with what you really want to do, start feeling better about yourself and eat and exercise properly. This is developing a repetitive positive habits.

Dan Robey is an expert on this subject and has a great article on positive habits.  Dan goes into greater detail in his article at Selfgrowth.com.

Creating Positive Motivation When Times Are Tough

Is Your Positive Motivation In Need Of An Adjustment?

Having Positive Motivation Gets You Back On Track To Success

Not Having Positive Motivation Makes You Feel Worthless!

How many times have you been hanging on a thread and you feel you want to give up and let go of the rope ?

When times get tough and outside forces are bombarding you from all directions do you feel overwhelmed?

Well Buddy, you’re not alone.

I have been there many times and it’s not easy to deal with. So many times I felt the walls are collapsing in and suffocating me. But even though I was in this position, I still wondered how can I overcome these obstacles that are holding me back from fulfilling my dreams and goals.

Looking back several years, I still recall having a positive motivation that enabled me to achieve great accomplishments.

This is a form of positive recapping. Bringing up past experiences which deliver a happy, exciting, and encouraging mindset.

Remembering the times that made you smile!

Do you remember such times? Are you able to allow yourself to do this?

Allowing yourself to recall happy moments of the past can bring you a sense of security when you’re feeling down and out.

If you find yourself in a situation where nothing is going your way and everything you’re trying to do is just falling apart, remember back to those times where you accomplished great achievements and how wonderful it felt.

You may not know this, but it’s OK to feel overwhelmed and feel out-of-sorts. At that moment though, take a deep breath and realize you’re in control of the situation and everything is going to be alright.

Always remember when times where tough in the past and you felt like “I can’t do this” but yet, it passes and you did do it!

Positive Motivation is when you keep on telling yourself “you can do this” when you feel you can’t.

Are you going to keep allowing a negative thought from preventing your goals?

The truth of the matter is simply; You can accomplish whatever you want but you must first believe in yourself. Believing in yourself is the first step to true happiness and success.
