Lose Weight by Staying True To Yourself

Staying true to yourself is all about admitting to your faults and weaknesses followed by a strong desire to overcome these obstacles.

When you get caught up in bad routines this causes a domino effect in your mind and you lose the ability to stay focused.  Once the ability to stay focused is lost, you now are falling into even a deeper trap.

No one wants to admit when they are weak and for sure accept the fact they may have failed.

By staying true to yourself at times you have short comings… you will find great success with the outcome.  For example, if you are trying to lose weight and you find yourself running to the cookie jar several times a day, by just being honest with yourself  and admitting you have a weight problem this can be the turning point for you to win the battle over the lack of weight loss you keep facing day in and day out.

At any moment you find it hard to stay focused on a goal start visualizing the end result you want to achieve.   This is a powerful step and will help you with those times you want to quit or give up.

Remember, giving in to your weakness is never an option and quitting is for losers and you are not a loser!

If your daily life is very complicated, and you can’t find the time to take care of your health and weight issues by following through with staying true to yourself, than it will be very difficult if not impossible for you to succeed in the battle to lose weight.

You can do this right now if you want to.  But, do you want to?

I truly believe you do want to eat healthier and look and feel better.  So go ahead and start today!  Don’t put this off any longer.  You owe this to yourself!

Lower Your Cholesterol With Green Smoothies

Controlling your cholesterol levels with green smoothies is cheaper and safer than taking cholesterol lowering drugs.

I know it can be very difficult and questionable to even think of trying a green smoothie when your Doctor tells you to go on cholesterol medicine.  In most cases, high cholesterol can be cured by changing your diet.  Yet, many of you would rather take a pill instead of eating healthier, and perhaps deleting the foods which are causing the high cholesterol in the first place.

What I want you to see are the side effects of these listed drugs to control your cholesterol levels according to WebMD.

After you read the article I want you to think really hard on this one simple question, “why would you jeopardize your overall health with a pill that is only hiding the truth behind what is really causing your high cholesterol in the first place?”

Do you really want to take a drug the rest of your life which has a high potential of destroying your vital organs?

After I read the article I found it disturbing to think how easy it is to put your guard down and let drugs take the place of natural healing methods such as drinking green smoothies to get rid of your high cholesterol problems.

What this is really about is…taking the easy road to fix an unhealthy eating issue with the chances of causing even more health issues in the long run.

I don’t know about you…But myself, if I was diagnosed with high cholesterol, I would rather eat foods with zero or low-cholesterol such as fruits and vegetables instead of animal products loaded with fat and cholesterol such as red meat.

This is where green smoothies will lower your cholesterol because most, if not all, of the ingredients in a green smoothie are leafy greens and fruits which lower cholesterol levels.

Treat Your Kids to Healthy Valentines Snacks

Instead of giving your kids cinnamon hearts loaded with artificial junk and dyes for Valentines day this year… treat them with healthy Valentines snacks that are good for them and so delicious too.

Here is one snack your kids will love!

Cupid’s strawberry smoothie

This berry smoothie is great for breakfast or an afternoon snack. What you need to do is the day before go to the grocery store and buy some fresh organic strawberries, ripe bananas (not green), vanilla flavored coconut milk, and a pack of freezer ziploc bags.

When you get home and unpack the goods, wash off the strawberries and cut of leafy tops then put them in a freezer ziploc bag and store them in the freezer for a day.  The next day you will be set to make this incredible strawberry smoothie.

When you are ready to make Cupid’s strawberry smoothie start by putting 2 cups of the frozen strawberries in the blender, 2 ripe bananas, and 2 cups of the vanilla coconut milk.

Mix it up for half a minute or until all of the ingredients are blended smooth.  Depending on the blender you have, this may take longer.  I know the vitamix 5200 we use just devours anything we put in it.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

Oprah Talking Vegan…Hum?

Yesterday Oprah talking vegan on her show.  She and 378 of her staff take a one week challenge to go vegan.

Oprah had a guest star Michael Pollan on her show talking about “Do you know where you food comes from?”  Michael says the American diet has become an utter failure.  He says diet is linked to chronic diseases and causes a whopping 75% of the healthcare spending in the United States.

Michael pointed out it’s a combination of high calories, processed foods, and refined carbohydrates that’s causing this epidemic in America today.

Now here’s the kicker!  Oprah’s show takes us to a cattle farm and from there to the slaughter house…  Yikes!  Watch this video from Oprah’s show by clicking here.

I don’t know about you, but after I saw this video, let me just say this was an eye opener.

This is my thought on the vegan or meat issue.  We all know that meat has been proven to cause chronic health problems.  I’m not a hypocrite,  so I can’t say to you that you shouldn’t eat meat because occasionally I do.

There are 2 critical points I would like to say:

  1. No matter what you eat it should be in portions and not over indulging.
  2. If you have any serious health issues you need to detox your body and stay away from meats totally.

The fact is when you are sick your body needs all of the energy it has to heal itself.  If you’re going to put meat in a sick body this will take away the necessary energy your body needs to heal.  Even if you have the common cold or flu the only thing you should be consuming is a liquid diet loaded with fruits and vegetables!  Hey, this is where the green smoothie is the best choice for healing.  It’s so easy to mix fruits and vegetables in your blender and drink it right down.
