Is Organic Food Better For You?

I just read an article in Newsweek.com where Six experts and a farmer square off about their thoughts on;  Is organic foods better for you?

One of the main questions asked was:  What are the supposed health benefits of organic foods?

Looking at all of the evidence when comparing organic vs. non-organic, and after reading what Krebs “former head of the Food Standards Agency” had said, “there’s absolutely no consistent difference” that states one has more nutritional value than the other.  I have to say, I agree with him in someway, but not all of the way.

I do agree, if you compare 2 pears, one organic and the other non-organic, there may not be a difference in nutrition when analyzing the micro-nutrients, vitamins, or anti-oxidants.   Really, how could it be, unless the pesticides kill off the good nutrients.  I’m not a scientist, but my gut feeling lets me believe  it’s possible and could destroy some of its beneficial elements.

What are your thoughts on this subject?  Hey friend, if you have a couple of minutes to read the article from Newsweek.com, tell me, is organic food better for you? Let me know how you feel!
