Why should green smoothies be added to your diet?
Below you will find a simple explanation why green smoothies became essential to my everyday healthy lifestyle.
As I wake up in the morning one of my first thoughts is about drinking a green smoothie.
What do you think about when you first wake up in the morning?
When you are passionate about your health and what you put in your body you will find many of your thoughts revolve around living a healthy lifestyle.
When I first get out of bed I grab myself a glass of water and go down stairs to the basement and workout for a period of 20-30 minutes, at least 4x’s per week. If it’s a productive week, as I would consider, I can get 6 days of workouts in.
Immediately after my workout, I jump into the shower and get ready for the day. As soon as I’m dressed I head out to the kitchen to make the most nutritional and delicious tasting green smoothies for breakfast, you can ever imagine.
So why do I drink green smoothies?
It’s actually a no brainier for me because after consuming green smoothies for the past 5 years, I witnessed incredible healthy life changes by increasing my energy levels and eliminating the agony of the recurrence of dreadful heart burn.
Green smoothies, first of all, give me immediate satisfaction. As everyone of us should know, breakfast should be the most important meal of the day. When I drink green smoothies for breakfast, I feel great! My hunger is met with lots of healthy nutrition and my energy levels are super.
On the other hand, when I used to eat the typical western diet smorgasbord (eggs, bacon, and cheese with fried potatoes) for breakfast, which did taste good, I will not deny that fact, but I found out shorty after, I would feel sluggish, and usually end up with heart burn. If anyone has bouts of heart burn, you know where I’m coming from. Heart burn is very uncomfortable.
I never felt sluggish or ended up with acid reflux from drinking green smoothies.
When you think about the basic ingredients in a green smoothie, there isn’t anything in the ingredients that would make you feel lazy or give you indigestion.
Here’s a list of the basics I use in my green smoothies: As much organic as possible!
- Organic green leafy vegetables (baby leaf spinach, sweet baby lettuce, romaine hearts, and baby romaine leaf lettuce). Baby leaf spinach is my favorite
- Flax seeds
- Sunflower seeds
- Raw cocoa powder
- Hemp powder
- Banana
- peanut butter
- Unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Depending on what you prefer, you can add any vegetable or fruit you like, but the main ingredient needs to be leafy greens to make it the most nutritional green smoothie. I myself don’t use measuring cups, I just throw it together in my high powered blender and drink it down immediately.
Are you finding yourself looking for a simple yet basic step to having more energy and feeling healthier? Do you eat the typical “western diet breakfast” each morning? Has Tums and Rolaids been added to all of your meals for relief of heartburn?
If you answered yes to any of the questions listed above, than you should consider adding green smoothies to your diet without anymore excuses!
Today is the day for you to make just on simple change in your over all health. You can do this just by adding green smoothies to your diet.
